1971 Plymouth Road Runner. In 1968, the first of the muscle car and in the opinion of many, moved away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained options.
I owned a 71 383 and I’m so sorry I sold it. I had it blue printed, added a dual point distributor and had everything done on a chassis dynonometer . Very rare in 1973 it took up the whole wall of the garage to do what can now be done with a hand held meter. It was fully manual, no PS, PB A/C or anything else. No power robbing accessories but a bear to park. Ate SS 396 Chevelles every time as well as 340 Dusters. Beat one Corvette but that was a 74 and had a weaker engine. Cruised comfortably with no engine strain at 110mph. No idea what the top end was.
