The Ford Galaxie was never sold in Australia we had to settle for the Fairlane .Ford Australia made it from September 1958 till late 1961 but they were all fitted with the FE Engine of 332 ci and some 352 ci and most were auto’s.They have a Nick name of Tank Fairlane because they were much bigger than the outgoing Customline body style of 1955 which we made up till 1959 with the use of Canadian body trim and grill from there 55 models.They are rare today as nobody wanted them when the Compact Fairlane as we call them of 1962 came out.

Mom had a sea foam green 4door that made a few passes down the North Hudson drag strip
